Club Program
Sacramento County 4-H Community Clubs
The oldest and most established of our delivery methods, 4-H Community Clubs are found throughout the county and offer the opportunity for hands-on learning for children ages 5 to 19. 4-H Clubs are youth planned and led. Most Sacramento County clubs meet monthly September through June.

In 4-H there is truly something for everyone!

Adult volunteers lead all 4-H Clubs and projects. They provide expertise in project areas, assume countywide 4-H leadership positions, and oversee the generation and allocation of financial resources for the local program. Most importantly, they form important ties with young people and provide adult friendship and support.
What is a Project
The project is where learning-by-doing takes place, as kids find things to learn, to do, to make, and to explore. Each year 4-H members enroll in at least one project lasting from eight weeks to year-round, depending on how the leader structures the project or how involved a member becomes. Resources, Forms and Links are available to 4-H members free of charge, but there may be additional costs to participate in some projects (this is definitely the case for most animal science projects).

The California 4-H program offers a wide variety of projects -- so there's something fun for everyone! We are always looking for adult volunteers to lead projects, help organize events and support the 4-H programs.
