Environmental Horticulture. Currently, my main project is working with the Sacramento County Department of Water Resources on a US EPA grant to develop and promote River-Friendly Landscaping (RFL) practices through 2012. I organized the RFL Park Standards course for park employees and landscape architects - view PDFs of the class presentations.
The Turf Demonstration Project compares three species under three irrigation regimes. Also included are small plots of native grasses that have potential as turf.
A workshop for landscape professionals was held at the turf demonstration site on February 22, 2012 (see presentations here). A workshop for the public will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
Peach Leaf Curl Trial. Home gardeners have few options for controlling leaf curl on peaches and nectarines. We tested available products, as well as a couple of other interesting methods.
