Environmental Horticulture. Currently, my main project is working with the Sacramento County Department of Water Resources on a US EPA grant to develop and promote River-Friendly Landscaping (RFL) practices through 2012. I the RFL Park Standards course for park employees and landscape architects - view PDFs of the class presentations.
The Turf Demonstration Project compares three species under three irrigation regimes; the irrigation treatments will start when turf is fully established, perhaps in summer 2011. Also included are small plots of native grasses that have potential as turf.
A workshop for landscape professionals was held in Feb. 2011 (see many of the presentations here), and a workshop for the public was held June 11, 2011.
