We are currently working closely with the strawberry growers in Sacramento County on a project funded by the US Department of Agriculture.  The project involves the following activities:

Strawberry variety trial, using new UC day-neutral and short-day varieties.

Soil solarization trial, with and without compost and compared to fumigation with Vapam.

Develop a DVD on good agricultural practices, pest management, and food safety.
